Why did I create this blog?

  • I read a lot of other blogs and thought it would be nice to create one of my own for others to read.
  • I kind of have an obsession with sports and thought it would be cool to blog about my obsession.
  • I am a Public Relations major and want to learn more about the different ways PR is used in sports.
  • Lastly, this is a class assignment.

This blog will focus on how various sports organizations use Public Relations on an everyday basis. The topics discussed will vary depending on current PR news in the media. I hope to analyze anything from crisis situations, to organizations having to use PR for promotional purposes. I am interested in how PR is used in any and all types of sports (hockey, basketball, soccer, football, baseball, etc.). PR is everywhere whether you see it or not, especially in sports. My goal is to write about interesting and up to date information that relates to PR and sports. I also hope to learn more about both industries, so that I can share with you how the two worlds collide. With that being said, I look forward to blogging and hope you enjoy what I have to say. So stay tuned!

About Alejandro

My hometown is the great city of Portland, Oregon. I currently reside in Eugene and attend the University of Oregon. I am in my senior year of college majoring in Public Relations. In addition to being a student, I work for Ethos Magazine, a student-run publication. I 'm also a communications intern for the University of Oregon School of Law. I am a sports fanatic who loves the Portland Trail and Oregon Ducks. In my free time I enjoy playing basketball, attending sporting events, and spending time with friends and family. I can read, watch, and talk about sports all day every day. PR and Sports, it's what I love!
